Biographical Info Ahmed A. Sallam, M.D, Ph.D., FRCOphth, is an ophthalmologist at the Harvey and Bernice Jones Eye Institute at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). Dr. Sallam specializes in the management of ocular inflammation and infection as well as treatment of vitreoretinal disorders including retinal detachments, age related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Sallam received his Medical Degree from Ain Shams University School of Medicine in Egypt. After completing an ophthalmology residency in Egypt, he undertook 2 uveitis and medical retina fellowships at the world-renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. Dr. Sallam also completed two further fellowships in vitreoretinal retinal surgery in the UK. Dr. Sallam is board certified in Ophthalmology through the UK Royal College of Ophthalmologists (FRCOphth) and has held prior consultant appointment at the Ophthalmology Department, Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Trust in the UK. As an active researcher, Dr. Sallam has has authored more than 45 publications and book chapters in the field of uveitis and retinal surgery and has been the principle investigator on a number of clinical trials. | References 1.
